The shoreline is a good metaphor for life.
Like standing on a beach, sometimes staying safely on the shoreline of life is the wisest thing to do. Other times it is not.
You have to ask yourself, where do I make the most positive impact, for myself and others, safely on the shoreline, or do I take a risk and venture out into the uncertainty of the waters of life to go for my dreams?
That answer will vary over the course of your life.
After much consideration, I am leaving the safety of the shoreline I’ve known for over 25 years as Atlanta, and venturing out into new waters of life. Living here has been a privilege, a challenge, a delight, and an opportunity for me to grow through the amazing relationships I have developed and the myriad of experiences I have had, including having a business here that will be coming with me.
I am a water person. Always have been. Always will be. I miss being by the water.
Some people are shocked to hear that given my experience in the lake, but I firmly believe I survived it because I am a water person, and one of my lessons from the lake is that I missed being by water more consistently. Plus other reasons it’s time to make a change.
Towards the end of July I will be putting my beloved house on the market, and after it is sold I will be moving to Richmond, VA to begin a new adventure. If you know of a friend that lives there, or know of a entrepreneur/business that may benefit from my services, I would love an introduction.
It’s never too late to leave the safety of your shoreline to follow new dreams.
This is the fourth blog post in a series of life lessons from the lake.
