Intention
An art of kindness breaks the darkness

Inspiration
This intention has been on my heart for a while now.

Normally I paint to music. This one there was no music.

Just the silence of this intention.

It can feel like there is so much darkness in the world, that at times it can feel hopeless.

I’ve struggled with this, especially as a highly sensitive person. I’ve wondered what can I truly do to make a difference and I keep coming back to kindness.

Kindness isn’t weak. It’s so f-ing powerful that it breaks the darkness.

It isn’t it can break it, it does. Period.

A stranger holding the door for you when your hands are full, a friend helping you laugh again, or a generous gift, all at the right time you needed it, changes you, and me.

It breaks the darkness, in our heads, in our hearts, and in this world.

Kindness has a timelessness quality to it.

What if an act of kindness expressed in the distant past actually helped you today, and an act of kindness you express today helps someone in the future?

Want to break the darkness? Be kind. Or at the very least, be less of a jerk than maybe were before.
